The start of school and September has us thinking about our wonderful students and partner schools. This month we will be shouting them out! *HALADAY SHOUT OUT* Meet Elijah, a senior at MLK High School. Elijah is a poet, gamer, entrepreneur, and more! Elijah first learned about HALA when he signed up to take "Art Through Hip Hop" his junior year. A few months later, Elijah joined "Navigating Purpose", our career pathway program and with future goals of owning a creative café, interned at @spotlitedetroit and @rosesfinefoodandwine! Using his internship experience, Elijah started a microbusiness selling home made cheesecake and banana pudding! Over the summer Elijah went from being a HALA students toba HALA colleague when he was hired as a Camp Counselor.
