BALMAIN SPRING-SUMMER 2023 RUNWAY “This is a composition blending my European heritage and outlook with the beauty and traditions of Africa—reflecting today’s diverse and powerful new world, where rebirth and fresh possibilities are possible.” -@olivier_rousteing For his Spring-Summer 2023 runway presentation, @olivier_rousteing wanted to channel a moment of rebirth. Couture-inspired elements — draping, braiding, patchwork, weaving and master sculpting — highlight the expert craftsmanship that serves as a foundation for the Balmain Atelier, while references to the great thinkers of the Renaissance age and the rich traditions of Africa inspire a fashion reboot in line with the Creative Director’s innovative vision. With over 8000 #BALMAINARMY members in attendance to watch the show during the #BALMAINFESTIVAL in support of @red, the designer also took this opportunity to launch a collective call to consciousness as it relates to sustainability and transparency in the industry.
