Dad would have turned 81 today. I’m relieved he isn’t bewildered and frustrated by the changes in his body and mind as he was for the the last few years. Today I am celebrating him and reveling in memories of when he was robust and most dad-like. Here we are smiling pridefully from our ramshackle and short lived tree house with hammer, nails, and a picnic hoisted up. This was a day of heaven in Florida back when my dad was the best playmate I had. I’m missing him but hoping from the heaven he is in now he can celebrate with me and feel the love this picture recalls.
