yesterday we dropped episode 3 of this years #Comp10Summer miniseries + D opens up about his late father Mr. Frank DeRozan. after we did the interview portion i thought about all the other ppl im in community with who have similar relationships with their fathers. thought about black fatherhood + the politics of it all, loss, grief, how there’s no blueprint to parenting, how we give love the best way we know how, + how it may not all make sense until later on, how our experiences shape how we pour into our family + our children. i thought about my father too + the piece i wrote about our relationship back when i was writing for City Paper...all that. never got to meet Mr. Frank but from all the stories ive heard over the years til this point, i know he was a real one. in lovin memory of Frank DeRozan + Barbara Ann Knox. 🕊🕊 filmed + directed by @reginaldthomas edited by @rashadxwhite link in bio 🔗 @demar_derozan @comp10
