Jamie Lee Curtis says she is all in for a ‘Freaky Friday’ sequel if Disney gives it a green light. In fact, Curtis says she has already pitched some story lines for the characters portrayed by her and original co-star Lindsay Lohan. The 63-year-old first publicly hinted at the idea of a sequel while promoting horror film ‘Halloween Ends’ in Mexico City, at one point telling the audience: ‘Lindsay Lohan and I are friends ... 'Freaky Friday' remake? Absolutely.’ Then, on Oct 10, Curtis appeared as a guest on the ‘The View,’ where she talked more about her excitement for a potential sequel. ‘Let me be the grandma! Let me be the old grandma who has to take care—who switches places,’ Curtis said. ‘So then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma, who's still, you know, happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon ... And simply, I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers—today. I wanna be a helicopter parent in today’s world as an old lady.’ First released by Walt Disney Pictures in 2003, ‘Freaky Friday’ was a critical and commercial success, grossing $160M and netting Curtis a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy. Almost two decades later, the body-swapping comedy continues to live on as a cult favorite for the millennial and Gen Z generations, thanks to streaming services like Disney+. #jamieleecurtis #freakyfriday #lindsaylohan #entertainmentnews
