Thank you all so much for those who came to our open house lite @headlandsarts . I was finally able to exhibit the sculptures along with the audio installation and printed interview transcripts from the 21 Grams the Weight of Souls series. ​ ​ There were a lot of concerns I have about including the interviews in this body of work and what these written documents mean to me as a visual artist. Whenever other artists visit my studio, I always like to ask about their strategy for balancing how much to say so the art does not become propaganda. ​ ​ But not until recently, I realize that I was asking the wrong questions to the wrong people. The answers should always come from me. Otherwise, it will always be less than what I really want. ​ ​ Thank you @courtgriffith @joshuasolis78 @studiohunterfranks @sandora_liu @makikoharris.art @zachsearcy @parrebustillos for being my muse and for being part of this showing. ​ ​ I am grateful that, over the past Sun, I was able to have my dream come true and share it with some of you.
