Hi curly's! Thank you for reading. I'm going to do a little list of do's and don'ts for my tried and true approach to curls. There are a lot of "rules" that I will be breaking here. But have those rules really worked for you? DON'T : - shampoo that lathers drys hair out. Even if it says it's for curly hair. Even if it says it is moisturizing. If it lathers, it dries your curls and can easily make them dull and lifeless. -don't use gel. You may think that will control and define your curls, it drys them out. -don't use conditioner or leave-in conditioner every time you are in the shower even when your hair hasn't been cleansed. It builds up on your hair and makes your curls lose their shine. -don't twist your hair and let it dry that way. Twisting your hair while it is wet pulls the crown straight leaving your curls defined, yet flat on top -don't be afraid to touch your hair. Hair is meant to be loved, enjoyed, and touched. -don't be afraid to brush your hair. Read more below about that one DO: -use New Wash cream cleanser. It is eco-friendly, will cleanse your scalp while leaving your ends supple. It takes away the dirt but leaves your natural shine and oil's in the body of your curls. You get shiny, healthy, bouncy curls without a bunch of product buildup. -give your scalp a massage when in the shower. It's a perfect time to give your scalp some much-needed love, enhance circulation, and encourage your hair follicles to grow with a bit more volume. It's extra good to do this while the New Wash is conditioning your ends for three minutes. -Do use a natural bristle brush and brush your hair before you cleanse it. Your scalp and your hair will thank you. It drags the scalp oils through the ends and nourishes. I also love brushing out curls once they are dry. Believe it or not this works out when you stop stripping your hair with shampoo! -do get crown layers. When done properly, they never create a shelf as they grow. You can do them yourself with my DIY classes. -do get a razor cut. but only with a person who knows how to use the tool properly/ carve in a clean angle. ❤️❤️
