i can safely say that very few of the many blessings in my life would have come to pass without @studiomuseum. i started to tag some of the many special people i met, worked with, befriended, or was mentored by during my time there (and to this day!), and i ran out of spots immediately. apologies if i missed you - say hi in the comments! it is one of the most important places in my personal history/universe, and it is also one of our most important & beloved cultural institutions - locally, nationally, and internationally 💁🏽‍♀️. (we didn’t need #ARTnews to tell us that, but thank you all the same!) it, and the generations of artists & art workers who made/make it, literally changed - and keep changing - the world, and not *just* the art world, either. special shout-out to #LoweryStokesSims & #LindaGoodeBryant, two of the greatest to ever do it and my forever inspirations/mentors/people i’m most often trying to channel, impress, or do justice.🙏🏾🖤💪🏾 because of all this, i am deeply honored - and a little nervous! - to have been asked to do the #LeaKGreenArtistTalk with my partner in all things, @hankwillisthomas. please zoom in tonight, or watch at your leisure later. and lea, we miss you & we love you & we are so so grateful to have known you!
