Still in isolation — with Covid — in the home where I grew up, I’m thinking about what’s ahead in 2022. But I’m also feeling extremely overwhelmed looking back at 2021. Thinking of Judith Butler’s 2012 Adorno Prize Lecture entitled ‘Can one lead a good life in a bad life?’ She seemed to conclude that the solution is to be found in our relation to others, hence, just before a new cycle starts, I decided to say THANK YOU to my many others. Thank you to 1. my (old) friends, I’m proud of being a daily witness of your growth 2. my (new) friends, I’m honored that we encountered each other and excited for the forthcoming chapters 3. artists for allowing me to care for their work with my words 4. co-workers for their trust and knowledge 5. my family for their faith in my hopes and dreams 6. all the people out there that I don’t personally know, but inspire me through their great images, music & words. And last, but not least, a big thank you to Marseille for welcoming me when I was looking for a new direction. Thank you for showing me your amazing colors and lights. I’ll be back. Very soon.
