Congratulations dear Alex Margon-Arden @olddrag on your amazing show/installation at Ginny on Frederick @ginnyonfrederick – All Clear. The signs at the front of the gallery have been painstakingly made in pastel – a recreation of the signage from a nearby outfitters in the city of london that ran a “not-closing-down-sale” some years back when crossrail were forcing the sale of local businesses. When you enter the space you’re hit by Alex’s “odour” (she created a wonderful scent for my show at La Casa Encendida @lacasaencendida last year 💚). And then there’s the installation inside with a material list that reads like a recipe which seems so apt for an artist that works in scent and cares so deeply about the details: “Assorted folding furniture, crates, boxes, baskets, replica museum food, decommissioned broken and fixed NHS plates, handmade toy theatre, painted backcloth, broken down coveralls, plastic frozen charlotte, hair grip, tins, stoneware jars, spare change, cutlery, tin opener, carpet beater, tools, brushes, pencils, scissors, receipt hook, soft pastels, rope, ribbon, cling film, notebooks, placebo pills, blankets, candles, chamber pot, sponge, soap, comb, bell, tray, palette, brooms, number cards, woodworm, dust.” 💚💚 The show is on until 10th July. You need to make an appointment to go see it, but make sure you do.. its totally worth it. 🦄🪄✨
