We adore these shots of Washington Irving’s home, dubbed "Sunnyside." 🌤 The author, famous for his story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” designed and built the house right here in the Hudson Valley. 🏡 @sleepyhollowspellbound explains: "While Washington Irving spent most of his adult life traveling, he was always nostalgic for his days spent in the Hudson River Valley. At 52, he decided to return and build his home Sunnyside in 1835. Irving designed the house himself. It is completely unique and based on his world travels, combining different architectural elements from all around the globe! When you visit Sunnyside you’ll notice the large Spanish tower, Italian roof, English chimneys, Dutch step gables, and beautiful Italian piazza by the riverside.
