Kapei is the king of Umani! Despite being the youngest and newest member of the herd, he has everyone else wrapped around his little trunk. (As you can probably tell from this video — the older girls are constantly clucking over him) Kapei is one of our newest rescues — and he is the very first orphan to go directly to our Umani Springs Reintegration Unit! He was rescued after KWS and Big Life observed him alone for several days. At two years old, Kapei is on the older side, but still far too young to survive on his own. Given his age, his location, and the late hour of his rescue, we decided to try something novel and bring him directly to Umani Springs. Now, everyone at Umani is obsessed with Kapei.
