The screening room project. I designed this for a very cinematic and creative couple. I wanted to fabricate almost everything in this space so it was completely personalized. We knew we wanted the hand cut wall paneling to be sexy and rich in tone. I curved the custom bar which acts as an island for entertaining and houses the speaker system. We wanted the stunning blue marble to act as the main attraction and so we took it up the wall where it looks like water reflecting through the raw brass shelving. We made the inky blue velvet sofa, custom drapery and sculptural walnut coffee table. The very rare vintage hunting rug brings all the lushness together. The screen was positioned in the ceiling so it’s out of the way for cocktail hour, but easily drops down when it’s movie time. I’ll share my inspirational soundtrack on this moody space in stories.
