Lt. Gen. David E. Grange Jr. (Ret.) died over the weekend at age 97. Grange is best remembered in the Ranger community as a driving force behind the development and activation of today’s modern Ranger Training Battalion. He joined the Army in 1943, served in World War II as an enlisted soldier, then Korea and Vietnam as an infantry officer. By the end of the Korean conflict, he was one of just a handful of soldiers to earn three gold stars on his combat wings for three combat jumps. Read more about the lasting impact Lt. Gen. Grange had on the Ranger community and the soldiers he inspired, link in our bio. Rest in peace, sir. __________________________ #Suasponte #RLTW #greatestgeneration #bestrangercompetition #wwii #koreanwar #vietnamwar
