#DesignInMotion 🛹 “I always joke that I'm an artist who can't draw,” says @shorts_and_tales (Matt Wilson). “I find the process of sitting down with a pen and paper quite frustrating.” For Matt, a creative director in Bristol, England, what might have been a shortcoming has shaped his animation work in a positive way: “I lean heavily on the use of simple, bold shapes,” he explains, making his style relatable and fun. Challenges also motivate him. “Like most of my personal projects, this animation stemmed from a desire to learn something new.” Here, he experimented with @blender.official to animate a hand riding a fingerboard. “I was planning to create a small series of toys that I loved as a child,” he says, adding that new fatherhood has temporarily derailed his full idea.
