It’s officially been one year since opening @mindbodyprojectnyc and I’m feeling incredibly grateful for everyone who helped us achieve this milestone. In particular, I deeply thank my family at Mind Body Project and our loyal community of visitors who make MBP so special. Here are some of those people: @kendrathomasyoga @carlosconcep @tyleraustinwhite @kbearyyy @cyansoie @katekerner @lilaronoff @sarahhelbringer @edie.arteaga @danieecaliforniaaa @ventiixo @meghan_claree & last but not least, Neil Stockel It wouldn’t be like me to post about my MBP journey without some learnings & reflections so here goes: - Today is a great day and we’re celebrating, however, getting here has been anything but easy. The group fitness industry has yet to fully recover as we continue to adapt to post-Covid market conditions. - In the early months after our grand opening, I made the mistake of tethering my entire mood to the highs and lows of the business. It made for quite a rollercoaster of emotions and I soon learned to create some separation between business performance and my own self worth. - Earlier in my career, hiring was a job function that I sometimes struggled with. I’ve made a concerted effort to improve in that department and the additional attention has paid off. I’m surrounded by an incredible team of people and I feel lucky every day that I get to work with them. - On a more personal note, my mental health is in a stable place, thankfully. I worked hard to get off my antidepressants and lasted about 9 months without them, however, I eventually started feeling that old familiar anxiety and depression. I’m now back on antidepressants and have found acceptance with the idea that I may just be better off with them vs. without them. What a fascinating ride it’s been thus far and I can’t wait to see what year #2 brings 💙
