Beauty is sensed. If you have to think š§ whether or not something is beautiful, then it isnāt. Studies we and others have done prove that we find things most beautiful when we first sense them whether it is a painting š¼, a glass of wine š·or a face š. If I ask you do you āthinkā it is beautiful then your brainās pleasure centers are dampened you lose the pleasure or dopamine release from feeling beauty. Bottom line if you have to think about it then it isnāt beautiful.
When unknowing observers šwere asked to judge the age of attractive individuals, their reward centers in their medial orbital frontal cortex and medial prefrontal cortex were stimulated. Yet, when the observers were directly asked to evaluate the attractiveness of the faces, their reward centers were paradoxically under stimulated. This suggests when asked to evaluate beauty and its focus is is brought from the subconscious to the conscious, we are no longer rewarded by it. Bottom line: For a beautification effort to be successful, it has to purpose its effect in a subconscious manner. A natural look is most effective way to impart a more positive first impression š.
āSubliminal Difference: Look better, feel better and nobody knows quite exactly what you had doneā
