Stevie Nicks posted a new, self-written poem to Instagram on Oct 10, urging voters to head to the polls. 'The disintegration of Roe v. Wade will change your life in an unfathomable way. You will not have control of what your beautiful dreams want for you,' Nicks wrote. 'Your lives will be in the hands of government officials who do not know you and cannot possibly know what your future should be.' In addition to posting the poem on social media, Nicks said she plans to release it as a song. Nicks, 74, has long been outspoken and candid about her own decision to undergo an abortion in 1979, when she was at the height of her fame with Fleetwood Mac. ‘If I had not had that abortion, I'm pretty sure there would have been no Fleetwood Mac,’ she told the Guardian in 2020. ‘There's just no way that I could have had a child then, working as hard as we worked constantly.
