holding space and solidarity for these lives of our siblings that are no longer with us. 1. our beautiful little brother 2 year old Jayden Hines. his mother, was charged with 1 count of accessory and 1 count of negligent child abuse. her boyfriend was booked for first-degree murder. he beat our little brother Jayden to death. Jayden’s biological father said “Take care of your kids, cherish your kids, because you never know what you have until they’re no longer with you.” Jayden, hey young king, I lové you, we lové you, you were only 2, and I promise we’ll never forget you. 2. another photo of our brother Jayden Hines, provided by his father. 3. our beautiful brother 26 year old Juraj Vankulic, he was shot dead outside of a gay bar in Slovakia. he was a visual merchandiser, the bar opened 2 hours before the gunman carried out the attack. the shooter published an online white supremacist manifesto, expressing his wish to carry out attacks on different groups and in different places. the attacker was found dead in a street near the main railway station. he is believed to have shot himself dead. Matús was the second victim shot in Slovakia outside the bar, alongside Juraj Vankulic. Matúš was a university student and Tepláreň bartender. Matúš hey sibling, I lové you, we lové you, we will never forget you. 5. our beautiful brother 25 year old Ahmad Abu Murkhiyeh. he was a gay Palestinian man living under asylum in Israel where he was murdered and beheaded. the suspect recorded the act in a video and uploaded it to social media. Ahmad had been living in Israel for the past two years as an asylum-seeker. the Abu Murkhiyeh family have been unable to clarify if the victim and his killer had any prior relationship. Ahmad, hey sibling, this is horrific, I lové you, we lové you, and we will never forget you. in the midst of all these tragedies that so commonly plague our world, and our people. I hope that it encourages you to be friendlier to your neighbors and more protecting of those around you whose lives may look different from yours.
