to the man who taught me to take up the space unapologetically, to let your style be your essence (those cowboy hats you wore without apology, even as I ducked in the passenger seat in the school drop-off line yelling at you to *take it OFF*), to be fucking loud when you have something to back it up with, have a fair (albeit heated AF) debate, to read when you don’t know, to vicariously live through good writers and know good food and sharing meal together is one of the best love languages. you were one of a kind, a pain in my ass— and I, in yours. but our love was deep, we challenged each other until your last breath and I love you forever for that. I am forever me, because of you. your memory will love and live on, through me, daily. you’re deeply missed today and everyday. oh yeah— & thanks for makin’ me a ginger (welllll, strawberry blonde 🍓*), too. lolol clearly didn’t get mom’s genes. p.s.
