Audaciously captivating and sophisticated, ‘Crystal Petal’ floral wallpaper, designed for de Gournay, is a promise of eternal blossoming, an ode to the greatest lady of all, Mother Earth. Unveiled during @parisdesignweek as an artistic echo to my furniture solo exhibition with @theinvisiblecollection this exclusive creation is on show until 4 October at @feauboiseries Weaving their roots in an emanation of stone foundation, oversized mesmerizing irises, camellias, and magnolias free their stems from the earthy base. Blooming into an evanescent sky studded with embellished crystals the giant flowers are embroidered directly onto the hand painted paper. For the first time, de Gournay’s exquisite Savoir-Faire in high-end custom wallpaper is combined with a haute-couture like embellishment of raw stones, gracefully woven onto the paper’s surface. The painterly vision of an overscale wonderland translated into a panoramic landscape is punctuated with a constellation of sharp- edged stones.
