World Breastfeeding Week starts today! To celebrate, I’ll be sharing some of my favourite images showing the beauty and reality of breastfeeding. I always feel so honoured to be able to capture those special, initiate moments at our newborn and family sessions ❤️. It doesn’t matter if you breastfeed for 2 weeks or 2 years, those images will one day bring back so many memories 📸 Breastfeeding can be such a challenging and emotional journey though, doesn’t it? Mums are often judged for so many reasons - because they refuse to breastfeed, stop too soon or continue for too long. Many people feel like they’re experts and offer unsolicited advice regarding breastfeeding (that includes men) that can easily create doubts and worries in mum’s head. To every mum reading this: you are doing an amazing job, the best you can for you and your family, and you and only you know what’s right because you’re the MUM. Trust your guts and don’t be afraid to ask for help!
 I respect and sympathise with all breastfeeding and formula feeding mums (and every combination in between) - motherhood is such a bumpy ride, isn’t it! 🤱🤱🤱 What is the World Breastfeeding Week? WBW is celebrated in over 120 countries on 1-7 August every year to mark the anniversary of the Innocenti Declaration. A document signed in August 1990, by government policymakers, WHO, UNICEF and other organisations, to protect, promote and support breastfeeding.
