It has become a Christmas tradition for me and my kids to join one of my favorite organizations @asenseofhomeorg in creating a home for a foster youth who has aged out of the foster system. We start with a full truck and an empty house and put our love and energy into unloading furniture, bedding, mattresses, towels, kitchen utensils and so much more and putting it all together and in place. We also brought a Christmas tree, gifts, and stockings to spread a little Christmas cheer! It was a pleasure and an honor to help put together a space for Taquisha and her 2 year old and 9 month old daughters for them to create beautiful memories in together. Taquisha overcame homelessness to secure a roof over her daughters’ heads, and next year she’s starting her journey towards achieving her dream of becoming a real estate agent! She’s such an inspiration, and I pray that all of her dreams come true and that she felt so much love and support during our day together. I pray that her new home is filled with peace and love.
