Afraid of painting brick? Try limewash! I’m here to tell you is that limewash is an amazing option for layering a coat of color on you brick—and it’s also REVERSIBLE. Here’s a ton of reasons to love it: 🎨Limewash is really forgiving and customizable when you’re working with it. You can dilute it with water for a less pigmented look, blend colors for a custom hue, and experiment until you get it exactly how you want it! 🎨 Limewash is drippy and messy when you’re applying it, but it’s also easy to wipe up, since it’s basically just chalk, pigment, and water. SO easy, in fact, that you can wash it off your brick altogether. (In MOST cases, that is. Be sure to test a little spot before committing because different types of brick may behave differently! As well, older limewash is a bit trickier to remove and a pro removal service is recommended.) 🎨 There’s no bad smell when you’re working with limewash; it just smells like wet concrete or mud. That makes it great if you’re committed to using eco-friendly finishes in your home. Its high pH even acts as a mild fungicide! 🎨 Limewash has a really beautiful earthy, organic texture that’s very different from the finish of paint. It adds a sense of warmth and dimension to the space, and especially complements brick! The color we used is @Portola Paints in Eastwood.
