This past Monday my mother lost her 12 year battle with Alzheimer’s in East Hampton. My mother passed away 1 hour after Kelly, the kids and I arrived from Los Angeles, just in time for us to say goodbye while holding my hand and surrounded by those she loved dearly. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the outpouring of love I have received. My mother was my best friend, she was my everything. I could go on for days about how special she was but instead I am going to share some of the words that others used to describe her.
“She was a beautiful person in and out and gave so much love and care. She was a shining light.”
“We will always remember and think of Susan as the strikingly beautiful person she was both inside and out, for her brilliance and intelligence, for her sense of humor, her smile, and her laugh, for her love of life, the world around her, and, most of all, for those fortunate enough to be in her circle of family and close friends.”
“The best of the best!”
“How she brightened our times together-the radiance of her smile and the beauty of her being which the difficult days can never disappear.”
“She was a bright light, smart, beautiful, nice, loving and so much more.”
“Susan was an incredible person. Her warmth and compassion were next level.”
“One of the most elegant, loving and fun ladies that I’ve met on either coast. She was the gold standard in so many ways.”
“The sweetest kindest woman ever!”
“She was a vibrant, stunning, epically kind and giving human. If everyone who had what Susan had, behaved like Susan, there would be peace on earth.“
“She was as magical as they come.”
“Your Mom was always a ray of sunshine. She exuded warmth whenever I was around her. “
“She was an extraordinary woman with a great love of family.”
“That smile lit up the entire room.”
“And Jamie then there was you and your mom---giving hope to all of the boy moms in the world! “
“Elegant and the coolest!”
“The world lost such an incredibly special, unique, beautiful person inside and out but her legacy couldn't be stronger. “
“Your mother was such a vibrant beautiful force, with an indelible mark on our world. “
