My #wcw this week is my fellow Austinite the smart & beautiful the one & only @camilamcconaughey I have known Camila for about 3 years now and her positivity and big heart never cease to amaze me. When someone once asked her about the birth of her oldest son Levi this is what she said and did. Question: Is it true that the @jklivinfoundation began with the birth of your oldest child, Levi? Camila Alves: When you have your first child and you’re in the position that Matthew is, whoever gets that first photo will make a lot of money. When we found out that the person was going to make over a million dollars on a photo, we were like, “No. We’re going to do an exclusive and get the money and put it into the foundation.” Camila is such a role model to me and also to SO many women! She started @womenoftoday and I’m so so glad she did. Through @womenoftoday I have met so many amazing women who I still keep in touch with today. If you have 10 minutes I strongly recommend you go to the @womenoftoday website- find the part that says “Meet Camila” and read that. Trust me... it’s good! This is just one part of it and speaks VOLUMES of her character! “The fact is we are all women, and I believe we need to support each other, share our stories, and find strength in numbers. A few years ago, I created Women of Today to do just that. To be an online home for all women to visit, to lend support, to pick up some guidance, to be mentors, to laugh together, to know we are not alone in this journey, to share our stories our learnings and create a community in our sisterhood.” So lucky to know such a beautiful soul and have such an amazing role model right in my city! Camila! Thank you for all that you continue to do on a daily basis! After learning a little more about you and your past it made me realize why I love and respect you so much!
