the race to engineer new! psychedelic! drugs! for @wired magazine 💎 psychedelic therapy in the mental health space is picking up pace, which means that pharma companies are recruiting chemists in the race to develop new, patentable drugs. Jason Wallach is one of them, who says they have made upwards of 150 new psychedelic compounds at their labs under a sponsored research agreement with USciences in Philadelphia, and mental health-focused company COMPASS. In Philly, Jason gave us a lil tour of his lab and the many hallucinogenic ~drugs~ they create and tinker with. Back home in northern Norway, my dad and I made some still life images using lab equipment from the local high school in Leinesfjord, methylene blue, my mom's cyanotope chemicals (ammonium ferric citrate & potassium ferricyanide), and other random things. there is actually a little ~behind the scenes- mention of this in print! had a lot of fun with this, thank you @lauryn_ashlih! assistant in philly: @parfumgenius / assistant in norway: @vilhelmthilesen / thank u @jayb0mbay for printing & @bondersen for the lab props! piece by John Semley
