Gentle reminder to be patient with yourself and manage your expectations. We all have different journeys. Being sick we often compare ourselves to where we are and where we should be. There are certain markers that we feel we have to hit to fit in, be accepted and appreciated. I remember being in a constant battle with where I was and where I thought I should be. School was difficult. Dating was tough. Thinking about future. All of these things were not easy to manage while being sick. I was always worried about what it looked like to others, who I should be to them and what milestones I should hit. All it did was left me frustrated. Learning to give yourself grace is hard. It starts with ignoring what you see and hear and looking at taking care of you. Your health, Your mental state. Your life. All outside things will do, is disappoint and frustrate you. Compare yourself to no one. We all have different journeys, mine is just the scenic route.
