When you have more than you need - build a longer table - not a taller fence⁣ ⁣ As you may have seen, I’ve welcomed an apprentice to my team. She has so much passion and is so eager to learn and has just been the perfect first addition to Elysian Collective. She also loves dogs and real housewives so we are basically sisters 😉⁣ ⁣ Having an apprentice has been such an eye opening experience. ⁣ ⁣ As a stylist, it has made me stop and think about the why behind what I do. Why do I foil in the pattern that I do, why did I choose a certain formula, why do I section the way that I do, why do I choose a certain bead size. Sometimes you get in such a groove that you don’t have to think about the why behind what you do, but having to explain my process has helped me see that there really is method to the sometimes seeming madness.⁣ ⁣ And now as a mentor, my passion for helping others has exploded. I think about where I was just a few years ago. Right out of beauty school with no idea of how I was going to actually make a career in the hair industry. Leaning into my passion of hair extensions but having no idea where to even start. To now be able to be the guide that I so desperately needed back then - I am seriously honored. ⁣ ⁣ This is why I built Elysian Collective. To create a space where stylists are welcomed to the team with open arms. A space where stylists can build and grow and create their dream career.
