When you just out rippin with the boys. 🤠 Really fun first stage of @rebeccasprivateidaho. Things were spicy from the gun with guys sending it up the steep first climb on the new start loop, but soon @andrewlespy @bradyn.lange and I were able to get to the front and pry open a gap. So refreshing to be back doing what felt like an XC/Marathon style effort. I felt good early and had a ton of fun helping drive the pace up and down with the 50mm Rambler/XPLR dropper set-up, but found myself on the back foot a bit for the long gravel road out ‘n back. I was able to survive Lespy and Bradyn’s strong pulls, and be in it there for the win, but man I need to work on my sprint! Two races in a row getting dusted on the line. I had good positioning for this one, but Lespy just laid down way more watts and came around me with a few meters to go. Tomorrow is Hill Climb TT day. Hoping today’s effort helped click the legs back in to gear and I’ll have some power for the watts/kg test. 😬 Thanks Reba for creating such a fun, diverse race format that appeals to so many riders.
