it’s a true honor to have been included in the great #SamPollard’s documentary #BlackArt: In the Absence of Light among so many artists, curators & scholars that i deeply respect [swipe 👉🏾 for trailer and watch on @hbomax] but honestly in watching i am so overwhelmed, so distracted by my fury that its stars & two beating hearts - #DavidDriskell & #MauriceBerger - are among the almost 500K americans needlessly snatched from this earth by #COVID_19, and by pure utter incompetence, disregard & purposeful neglect. it is infuriating that they are not here to see this film, to share in the joy of their contributions being celebrated on this stage. i am grateful for this record and excited for all that will come of this film, but they should be here and it’s a travesty that they and so many others are not.
