✨GRATITUDE POST✨The past couple of weeks have been a beautiful whirlwind. After performing at Carnegie Hall with @superyoumusical last week, I went straight back home to LA to hop into rehearsals for XOXO Euphoria Girl with @cherrypoppinsla .. and we opened last night. :) Performing truly is one of my greatest loves. After coming out, I had to take a step back from theatre. I had been taught for so many years that in order to find success in this industry, I would need to exist in the image of a “workable actor” ... an image that fell in line with the societal expectations placed upon me since I was a child. I had been operating under the myth that for my dreams to come true, I would need to sacrifice my truth. To be performing again...fully in my power...has been so empowering. To bring all the parts of myself that were once hidden in shame to the forefront and receive applause...has been incredibly healing. I think it will take me some time to truly process what this has meant to me. If there are any trans, nonbinary or queer performers out there who have also been taught that they would not find success existing as their truest selves...I need you to know that is absolutely not true. An artist is nothing without a perspective...and the world needs our light. I love you.
