Motivation is 🚮💩.
You’re not always going to have it; it’s not always going to be there. There might even be situations in life where it will be impossible to get motivation. Stop relying on it and stop asking people how to get it. Motivation is not always in your control.
But consistency IS within your control. That’s where you’ll get the biggest bang for your buck. Find ways to make a consistent date with yourself to take care of your body/health.
- Create a schedule and block it out in your calendar
- Find a time that works with your family/work schedule. For some it might be super early in the morning and for others it might be on the way home from work. Find what works for you.
- Find a support system or a gym buddy. It can be someone who goes with you or an accountability group online.
- Ask for help. Don’t just wander aimlessly. Sign up for a fitness app, get a trainer, or join a structured group fitness class that takes the guessing out of the equation.
- Set yourself up for success. Have your gym bag packed, get supplements you might want, have a sitter, etc. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
