This is the most difficult thing I’ve ever posted. Last Saturday, one of my best and oldest friends passed away. Aside from a two decade long friendship, I had the honor of DJing and collaborating with Nectali aka @sumohair countless times. Our party @dinamitalosangeles alongside our brother @egomez1212 brought cumbia and tropical rhythms to LA for 9 years. He was an essential part of the spirit of that party. Our connection was strong, largely because of our love for music. I got to see many of his creative personas and transformations and more recently the huge and growing success of his project with @suavecito_91 @reynatropical. His combination of talent, passion, drive and focus was truly inspirational and unmatched. He would always push his friends and often even strangers to be their most creative selves because that’s what he was. It was his tool to cope with the world and his gateway to happiness. He truly loved and cared about us and wanted the same for us. In many occasions, I was there for him, and he was there for me; always with a loving smile, good music and cold chelas. Im grateful for the time we shared and the many lessons he offered me. They’ll stay with me forever. I’m really gonna miss him.
