‘The two couture looks may be distant cousins, but by no means twin sisters.’ - when I invited the digital design pioneers of @studio_pms to develop a digital couture look to complement my collection, I knew this was going to be an inspiring journey. With the designs slowly starting to take shape at the atelier and the collection in full development, Studio PMS got to work. Inspired by my work, they experimented with structures, prints, colors, materials and certain crafts with their digital lens. The digital couture look had an effect on me and the rest of my collection. A lot of elements found its way in the physical collection they brought to the table, like the 3D flowers and the tulip for instance. Still, I wanted to experience what the gap, friction or distance is between the digital world and the physical world. So I challenged myself (and my team) to re-create the digital couture look in a physical form and the gap turned out bigger than expected, as you can see.
