A true homage to Pedro Leites; Pioneer of design in early 1960s Mexico known for his famous piece commissioned by TANE titled “Los Gallos.” This piece represents the struggle and perseverance of a country like Mexico. A solid black obsidian block with polished silver tablets treated in vermail and acid come together to depict a bird in motion- the loose bronze base acts as a platform for the bird to take flight. It implies fluctuation and possibility, providing the space for ultimate contemplation of beauty. This piece was designed by Gloria Cortina for @tane.mx 2022
