Transgender people deal with a lot of different things just like anybody else, but for some reason showing how trans people relate to their families and the world around them, and how they can be a valuable and important part of society is not generally of Interest to the storytellers in Hollywood, until now. The character of Monica, her trials and tribulations and how she deals with estranged family members and how they ultimately deal with her is forever immortalized and will remain as an inspiration for people for years to come.
