I had more than a little trepidation and nerves this week before coming to Vegas for the National Assn of Black Journalists/National Assn of Hispanic Journalists Conference. Decades have passed since my last one. Would I know anyone? Would I enjoy it? Would I learn anything? Turns out I was in for so many hugs, laughter, great conversations, provocative and inspiring panels and a profound sense of being home. So proud of the pioneers, so excited for this next generation. And so humbled to be part of ABC News, where my colleagues across the nation are a masterclass of excellence, starting with @newsmom8 the first African American to head a major network.
