Well, that’s how it goes in Springield lately. There was a zero percent chance of rain all week until Friday afternoon and then, boom, all of the rain comes. It was a huge bummer but, at the end of the day, I knew what I was getting into and I’m okay with taking the chance. We were able to get most of the first event in but on Day 2 and on the rain date we had to choose to pull the plug. It’s a hard thing to swallow, but it was my only choice. I felt great on my @indianmotorcycle and like standing on top of the box was in the cards for me that weekend. I want to shout out my entire promotions team. My wife Nichole came down with COVID at the worst possible time and everyone pulled together to make it happen. Also, huge shout out to Lesha Colthorpe for grabbing the bull by the horns and filling in. I’ve got a long list to thank: to the ticketing girls for pulling through. I was so worried and at the end didn’t have anything to worrry about because they were so well-oiled. My buddy Steve Beattie for taking my place and keeping the ball rolling on all angles. My merch crew flat out kicks ass. I’d put them up against any crew in any sport. The track prep crew, it was really awesome and they nailed it. All of my helpers that are there to hang banners and take orders. It’s awesome to have great troops. My family, of course, for being there helping. All of the clubs, teams, and groups for making this all happen. The fairgrounds were awesome to work with. To the Kiesow’s for giving me a great road map and being there minute in minute out with all my questions that I asked 4 times over. All of the food vendors. Class of 79 for selling the booze. Shout out to American Flat Track, it seems that they catch a lot of heat lately, but honestly, they were a huge help in a lot of areas and working with them was easy. To all of the sponsors of the event, local hotels, and the Springfield Citizens Bureau. Lastly, a massive thank you to our awesome fans, you all were very great and understanding on our decision.
