I got my start in politics when I was 16, just by volunteering for the Arizona Democratic Party. I ran for office at 27 because as a daughter of immigrants and UN policy advisor, I was fed up with attacks on minority communities and the slow pace of government to act on the climate crisis. Now more than ever, we need young people to pay attention to the issues that will impact their future.
