Today my twitter are filled with news about one of airbnb cofounders departing. One piece written by his fellow cofounders quite strikes me: “[Airbnb] wasn’t to become the biggest company of the world, but to expand to the word “family”. You would open the dictionary one day and the word “family” wouldn’t be limited to your parents, siblings, or children. It would also include all the people that you took into your home—the people you cared for, the travelers that you were entrusted with.” Simply put, my experience in Sumba & Bali back in May was the epitome of expanding these terms (the family part, obviously!!). Never in my mind I’d imagine my short stay in both islands would leave such a mark on my life. Genuinely, and truly... heartwarming one. Thank you my college friend @tusintia, who took me into her home in Tampaksiring, cooked the most authentic ayam sambal matah I had since awhile, & brought me to meet her whole family nearby 🧡 Thank you mas @purrwanto_ for everything related to @kadokeliling, showing me local places in Sumba, telling me stories, and also introducing me to his Sumba family - tante yunita, adi bu, and family 💜 Hope our path crosses again soon! P.s. It’s shocking that I look pretty good in shocking pink kebaya bali:-) P.s.s. Also featuring my abis mandi bareface, anxiously gendong/pegang ayam. P.s.s. Satu mobil travel sama ayam hiduppp 😂😅😅
