Richard Hunt's sculpture "Expansive Construction" (1974) summons ideas of growth and aspiration. The upward curvature of the work prompts the viewer to consider outward movement and organic growth. Hunt calls his sculptures "hybrid figures" and considers them to be a bridge between what we experience in nature, and what we experience in a technology-driven society.
