I love Mums. I LOVE. @artistsandmothers is a grassroots labor of love — built by artists for artists — offering $25,000 grants to NYC-based artists with children under three, so they can afford a full year of childcare with a provider they choose. It’s practical, necessary, and deeply tender work. On a day filled with hope in NYC, a day with a spark that reminds you that we’re capable of working together for a better future, I’d like to share that I am SO GRATEFUL to be part of the very first @artistsandmothers gala on SUNDAY, NOV 16 at WSA. And *truly*… what company to be in! The afternoon will be full of life: interactive installations by @ei.arakawa.nash , @maia_ruth_lee , and @frequentlyaskedquestion - performances by Sophie Becker, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, Zeena Parkins, and Cecilia Lopez, who is also one of this year’s grantees.
