One of the great blessings of my life has been being a part of this program. I’ve been on faculty for nearly a decade and when I started we were Sierra Nevada College MFA, then we became Sierra Nevada University MFA, and now we’re the University of Nevada, Reno-Tahoe MFA. The name has changed, but what’s remained the same is we’re a rare community of writers who employ the highest of literary standards, but who also operate with a true spirit of benevolence that says we can all do great things, that there’s room for everyone, and in believing in each other we can find our way into the best possible version of ourselves as artists.
