Waymo, the self-driving car subsidiary of Google’s parent company Alphabet, began offering San Franciscans rides in its driverless cars last August through its Trusted Tester program. At the time, people could sign up to test-ride the cars in certain neighborhoods and offer Waymo feedback on the experience, though a human expert would also be in the vehicle just in case. In mid-November 2022, Waymo received a permit from the California Public Utilities Commission to offer fully autonomous vehicle rides to the public. Read more at the link in bio.
