Those conversations are ONLY difficult because YOU feel the need to distinguish yourself as “different”. Treat orger people as humans. Remove your biased qaulifiers from the conversation and it really is that simple. “Hey kids, we need to treat all people the same as everybody else”USUALLY that will be enough, they’ll say “okay dad!” And move on. At most: “but dad what do you mean ‘all people’?” “That means everyone, even if they look a little different or have different beliefs” “okay dad!! So just be nice! Got it!”
