Our Airstream may not look like it can handle winter in Alaska, but with a wood stove, insulation and an arctic water system, the last six weeks of negative temps have been surprisingly enjoyable! I’m not sure how, but the spot we chose to stay in is 15 degrees colder than even a mile up the road due to the fact that it’s surrounded by mountains in a valley. When the weather app says 0, it’s actually -15 🙃 Despite the challenges that can bring, living this way has been one of the coolest experiences ever and I don’t regret the hard work we’ve put into making it possible.
