“You’re not really a runner?” “This is a bad idea.” “Are you sure you can do this?” “Why are you even doing this?” ⁣ I had so many voices in my ear from every direction and although I knew it was with the best intention, the words still stung in the moment. ⁣ ⁣ The journey to the starting line was in no way easy but, boy was that the most incredible victory lap! The countless faces of friends, family and colleagues; the endless high fives of strangers, babies and dogs; the miles of smiles and hugs will forever be embedded in my heart. ⁣ ⁣ Thank you almost seems inadequate. To my road dogs @misskittyybaby and @marisa2881 : thank you for keeping me grounded and laughing and for the roll of toilet paper that no one thought we would need 🤣 To my coaches and medical and healing teams, you have my body and my heart 🙏🏾⁣ ⁣ To anyone who has been inspired to run a race, remember, “Your Race, Your Pace”.
