“The Road West”-Donetsk Region, Ukraine. 2006. This is one of my favorite images from my project about migrants, refugees and trafficked persons called “Open See” “I was on a lonely road some 30 miles from the Russian border, wandering beside an oil pipeline looking for a photograph. Like ghosts on the horizon, a family walking towards me emerged in the distance. As we crossed paths, we introduced ourselves and I asked them what they were doing there. The mother paused, and with a smile, answered, ‘Sometimes after a hard day of looking for work, it’s good for the soul to take a walk.’ With that, I took their photograph, we said our goodbyes, and they headed West.” Link in bio for a signed 6'x6" print $100 PS: I’M HANDWRITING THE TITLE ON EVERY PRINT thanks, Jim
