This Abarth 1000 SP Sports-Prototype Has Raced Around Europe For Decades, And Counting Over 100 horsepower per liter, just over 1,000lbs of weight, a redline over 8000rpm, and a tube frame chassis—it’s not a bad recipe, and although this car is so much more than a glorified go-kart, you would be forgiven for making the comparison anyway. This lithe little Abarth has raced at the Targa Florio, the Nürburgring, Mugello, and on countless hillclimbs and road races around Italy in its youth. After a lengthy restoration in the 1990s, it quickly got back to work to contest the historic versions of the races it ran in the 1960s and ‘70s.
